On Saturday September 22nd, 2018, I am performing and teaching the Art of Middle Eastern Arabian Dance at The Haney Farmers Market in Maple Ridge. I will be under the gazebo of Memorial Peace Park – Spirit Square – 11925 Haney Place, Maple Ridge, BC (Downtown Maple Ridge).

Bring a hip scarf and come as you are or dressed in your dancing happy clothes; bring your camera too. The more colorful your clothes, the better. Come join me that day and let us celebrate the wonderful community of Maple Ridge and enjoy music and dance and while you are there, bring cash to buy fresh delightful food from our local farmers.

 

I am set to dance between 12:00-2:00pm so come come join us and bring people with you.

Mission’s Writers Group planned their annual three days & 2 nights retreat for writers called ( I should be writing) writer’s retreat & this time, I joined them.
Living in Maple Ridge, BC for over ten years from 2005-2015, I never knew about this spectacular ‘Loon Lake.’

Dreaming of spending another three days in solitude and silence at a place like this -especially after the rains stopped is a welcomed thought but since it is costly and all, I am content with what I got 🙂 I can only imagine how this place looks on a bright sunny day.

I fell in love with this forest after being there for few minutes; I wrote a poem while it was pouring rain there. The poem title is ( In a mirror-less forest ).

While I had all the alone time with no screens, no phone, and no internet at all, I wrote nine new pomes, polished some old ones and wrote a short story (a love story). I also worked on my memoir a bit.

I am invited to be a guest poet at one of the nursing homes in Maple Ridge where I used to work as a Care Aide for few years. It will be nice to visit the fun bunch and share with them my poetry.

 

On Wednesday February 28th I am a guest poet in Maple Ridge showcasing my books and reciting my poems.

Beside working there and freelanced as a Senior Companion, I also was their Arabian Dancer/ entertainment gal. oh, ya. I even once made it to front page in the local papers.

I miss those fun days and it will be fun to go back again.
